Fairy Birthday

Hello everyone :o)

I've used another of those gorgeous ScrapBerry girlies for today's card...

This one is called Fairy Birthday and she's available from Funky Kits HERE.

I've had a change from my usual copics, and painted her with Distress Ink markers... I only got them this week, so I'm very much a beginner with them and have lots still to learn!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely day.

Little Princess

Hellooo and good morning to you all.

Janine here today to share my Thursday card with you. This week I'm showing off the fabulous new stamps from Scrapberry's - the range is available from Funkykits. The cutie I've used today is called 'Little Princess', she was such a dream to colour and I love how her dress turned out.

I decided to use my new Silhouette machine made an inverted frame cutting out the word 'Beautiful' from the top layer of the cardstock. I coloured this little sweet heart with my Copic pens and added a little glitter and some handmade flowers to finish her off.  Full details can be found on my blog here.

I hope you like my little creation, next week it's Christine's turn so I'll see you again in 2 weeks.

Hugs

Enjoy your Trip

Good morning sugar fans, Fi here with my Wednesday post. and my scheduled post

Now this stamp is one of the fabby new stamps from the Scrapberry's range at Funky Kits...she's called Enjoy your Trip...and appears to be one of the popular ones!!

The papers are from Echo Park which I layered onto bazzill card, doodled around the edges as usual...lol, the image has been coloured with polychromos using blending solution...I have to say I do love that technique however very time consuming!!  I added some diamond glaze to the sunglasses to give a glass effect.  I also added a piece of lace fixed with some black twine and then added a wee camera charm and finally the flower is the layered rose from die-namics fastened with a jewelled brad and some ribbon leaves...hope you likey!!

The Story Teller...

Hi Sugar Fans..

It's Christine... and I'm here with my card for today's post..

I've used my much loved 'The Story Teller' image..  this little lady is such a joy to colour... and the image cries out to be done in 3D which is what I did - so I've put a couple of extra photos here to show you the depth - but if you want to see more detail, you can see more on my blog HERE.

The Story Teller is still available in digi format HERE - digi sometimes is a plus, because you can resize it before printing to exactly the size you want.  And most printer ink is happy to be used with Copics/Promarkers etc.  It certainly doesn't run - as you can see from my card.

It's exciting times over at Funky Kits - there are some fabulous new stamps available so all the DT are rushing to be the first to make a card with them...  I can't wait to play with mine!  And they are at a fabulous price too.....  check them out HERE!

Hope you'll pop back here tomorrow to see more inspiration..

SOS- Super cute business idea

Happy Sunday readers, it's Father's Day in the Uk and hubby had all his gifts yesterday on the yearly trip to the big city to by him some new clothes. Thank goodness it's only once a year, the men in this family just don't do shopping and I can honestly agree that I did not enjoy it either.

I recognise that retail is changing but I also know the big guys are playing games. Sports direct over value there products so that they can take a massive 70% off jeans! no way were those years worth or would ever sell at £65.
Stirling mills sells a flour cusion at £200 when we price those at £145
Debenhams sell a set of sassy belle suitcases at £32 when we have those at £17.60

So from that small selection you see why the big guys are squeezing out the small independents, it's not on price so it must be brain washing that the big shops sell better or it's the price slashing they can legally do if the item has been on sale at full price for 28 days.

With my headin a spin already knowing that I don't want to stay in this game any longer than my lease requires me too. What next!

We I think I've found the answer!

Looking around pinterest this week I found some super sweet mobile shops. What so perfect about these...... Loads of things.
Most small business can well do without the rent and rates bills, tied to a shop 6 days week, stupid water bills and phone, insurance and advertising.

Knock that all on the head and but this.

How easy would this be, take it out a couple of weekend a year or every weekend, pull it behind your own car, no need for not tax or engine problems. You could even pull this into a larger show via the garage doors.
Everything is stored inside , easy to put up and take down. A few props outside and your open for business.
What would you sell, cupcakes, ice cream, vintage finds, books, crafty makes there is basically a load of things that could be sold from a caravan.

Would you walk past a cute caravan at a show, it would be rude not to stop because they would be an attraction in them selves. Wouldn't it be lovely to have a fied of these at a fair!

I love them, shame the Scottish weather puts a damper on things but better be in a caravan than a table top outside when it rains.
Yes this is a pop up shop that can travel. The way forward for small business that do well on the Internet but still need a little interaction with their customers. Sunny summer fairs on the green, Highland games, local village shows, and school open days.

Now all I need to feed this dream is a wee caravan with a solid shell and two good tires!
What are you dreaming of today?
Take care
Karen

Going going gone

Good morning everyone, hope this week has been kind to you.

As I wait for deliveries I have been tiding up on the computer. I have loaded up some new digital stamps, these have been available are rubber stamps for almost three years but our licence is due to expire and they are going going gone! Some rubber has been sold out for a long time , so this is your last chance to pick them up.

Www.funkykits.co.uk and look for retired stamps or digital.

Remember that Christmas crafting will be around the corner, certainly in the shops we are already preparing Christmas classes so don't miss out on anything.

We have been doing a lot of class sample this month, thanks to Kate who does the design work, these have been a lot of fun. Classes run in Elgin and Oldmeldrum. We do a stamp camp for those who want to learn more on stamping teqnics. We have added a Hobby House day using toppers as we wait for Sugar Nellie toppers from Hobby House later on in the year. These have been stunning to make, so easy when you don't have to colour, that part takes time and skill, something we can't teach in a two hour class.

Beautiful card as you can see, thank you Kate!

Thanks all from me today, enjoy your weekend.
Karen

Under The Sea

Hellooooo!

Janine here, and this week I thought I would share a pretty rubber stamp called 'Under The Sea', isn't it cute and she's available from Funkykits.  I was a little out of my comfort zone creating the water effect, so I decided to try and keep it simple by sweeping across the background and then dotting it with the colours I used in the rest of the picture then to finish off I added a few complimentary sequins.

I used some pretty paper from First Edition in the background and coloured my image with Copic pens. All the shapes were cut using MFT Blueprint dies.  For full details of everything I used go to my blog here

I hope your day is a good one!

Hugs Janine xx

Hazel and Nutty

Good morning Sugar fans it's Fi here...yes twice in the one week!!

Now this has to be one of my favourite stamps from Sugar Nellie...it's Hazel and Nutty...aren't they a cute pair??

You can buy Hazel and Nutty from Funky Kits...in rubber...here!!  Or you can go for the digi version ....here!!

Now this is such a versatile stamp and can be used really for any occasion...and even Christmas!!

I have used papers from MME - Meadow collection, I inked up the edges of each of the layers with distress ink and layered them onto kraft card...oh doodled around the edges too...  I coloured Hazel with spectrum noirs and then shaded with polychromos...I am still practising with the spectrums but I think I am liking them more each day....I then glittered up the wings with glamour dust as the stickles didn't go so well. I made the flowers with one of the die-namics rolled rose dies, the grass and those teeny weeny butterflies are memory box dies which I glittered up with some platinum stickles.  I finished of with some wee pearls in the corners of the layers.

Hope you like this weeks card and remember to pop back tomorrow for some more inspiration from the team.

Best Day Ever...

Hi everyone, its Lynne here today! I hope your having a great week so far. The weather has been miserable here the last few days. Its not cold...just very wet!!

Today i  have made a card and candle gift set using the gorgeous "Best Day Ever" digital stamp. She also comes in rubber but is soon to be retired so if you want this cutie you will have to get her very soon!

I used Promarkers and Polychromos Pencils to colour. For my card i used MME papers, Memory Box Vivienne Butterfly Die, lace, a little bow and added some gems.

The candle was really fun to make..if you fancy giving it a go then here is how i did it....

I printed the digi onto tissue paper (you can just stamp directly onto the paper if using rubber!)
I coloured my image using Promarkers. You have to do quite a few layers to get the colour you want as colouring on tissue paper is not the easiest!
Cut around the image...just roughtly, doesnt need to be neat as you are not going to see the edges.
Place on the candle and using a good amount of wax paper wrap it around tightly gathering the excess in a bunch at the back.
Using your heat gun sweep over the whole of the image. You MUST pull tight on the wax paper as you do this as the pressure from the wax paper pushes the tissue paper into the melting wax leaving the image embedded on your candle.
You will see the candle wax melting and the image starting to change. Make sure you go right to the egdes of your image.
All thats left to do now is carefully peel the wax paper away and admire your gorgeous personalised candle!
You can also put a sentiment on there in exaclty the same way if you wish!

For more details please feel free to pop over to my blog HERE!

Thanks very much for stopping by! Tomorrow Fi will be here with more inspiration for you...hope you can pop back then!

Hugs,
Lynne xxx

SOS pink ladies

Good morning sugar addicts

The sun is shining here in the NE Scotland, two days in a row! Mind you we had plenty of rain before that and hubby was getting frantic that he had cut silage and there would not be a chance to bale it all.

Wedding season is here. We had a dance on Friday night and another party this afternoon. Delighted to see old friends again and reminisce on our young days.

Back to work on Monday for me, looking for a delivery of stamps , goodness knows where it am going to put these as we have been trying to reduce the space funkykits takes up. This delivery will put us at bursting point. One of the reasons were have such a huge quantity of these arriving is the price. Com pairing the Far East market to UK/USA does not hold comparison. I know most things are  made there but when you deal with a business in a new country you have to get your head around cultural differences. They have a very different market to us and pitch their product according to the life style and income. Good news for us.

So before we launch these cute girls to you, yes they all girl stamp.

What do you think of these pink ladies?
Answers on a postcard......

I think I will be busy on Monday, loading these up and sending out the DT some stamps to play with. Really looking forward to seeing your creations , very happy to be able to bring these stamps to the Uk, fingers crossed they are as successful as Magnolia's were back in 2007 just when they grew hair. If anyone can remember the Magnolia's when they were bald, let's hope you got rid of those!

Enjoy your day and I will catch you again.

Karen

Be Our Guest....introducing

My name is Elizabeth Elton aka Cardville Cards by Elizabeth. I live near Oslo, the capital of Norway, with my husband and 8 year old daughter. My "day job" is being a social worker, my passion is crafting:) I have a big passion for cards and coloring. Copics are my favorite coloring medium but I also love the soft look of distress inks. I love soft tones and my style is a hint of vintage/shabby chic.  I've been  crafting for about 8 years and I am still in love with this wonderful hobby. I was so happy to be asked by Karen to guest design for Sugar Nellie. I must say I love these adorable images, and I had lots of fun coloring this beautiful Live Laugh Love image.
I know I will be using this image over and over!

Here is my card- I hope you like it!
I used Pion Design papers, dies are by Lifestyle Crafts, Swirl by Memorybox, flowers by WOC. Sentiment is Norsk Stempelblad AS. Postmark stamp by Kort og Godt, pearls by Panduro. I used Frantage shabby white around the image and Stickles on the wings.

I absolutely love this adorable image called Live Laugh Love. I used the following copic markers:
Skin: E23-13-11-21-00, R20
Dress and flowers: V95-3-91-V000, W3, Hair: E57, YR24, E53-50-43
Wings: V000, W1-3
Greens: G43
I printed the image in light grey to get a bit of no-lines effect.
