More Summer Smiles

Hello Everyone! Jane here today with a card I have made using the Summer Adorables digi image Summer Smiles which is available here from Funky Kits. I used some old papers and lace from my stash on the card and coloured the image in with my Promarkers before I cut her out leaving a small border.

I added a My Favourite Things sentiment and some paper flowers to match the papers and finished with some stick on pearls.

Here is a little close up of my image.  I added some stickles to the flowers on her shoes and the little hearts on her bag and top to give her a bit of extra sparkle. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

For the Birthday boy!!

Hey there, sweet friends! Pat Frank here with another new Sugar Nellie DT project to share with you! First, though, I'd like to thank all of you who left comments on my last Sugar Nellie post! It looks like I'm not the only one who has made a couple of Christmas cards already!! hehe! But...no Christmas card today!! Today's project is for a handsome little guy's 9th birthday!

That's right! Our one and only grandson, Brody, will be 9 in just a few days...so I made a "hanging" card for him (with a pocket on the back for a gift card, of course!!) That way, he can hang it on his bedroom door...and years from now, when he's been out partying a bit too hard, he'll be able to find his bedroom!! LOL!

This cute little stamp is called "Number One Fan" and is from the Simply Sassy collection of stamps created by Krista Smith specifically for Sugar Nellie. It's available HERE at Funky Kits.

As per my usual, I colored this image with Copic Sketch markers...then deepened the shading a bit with colored pencils! Here's an"artsy" angle...

I'm pretty sure Brody is going to love this...especially the gift card part! If you'd like more info on this project plus a look at a couple of additional pics, please visit my blog HERE!!

Have a fabulous week!! Hugs...until next time.

SOS- Moving on

Good morning sugar addicts, I hope your week has been as enjoyable as mine.

I had a busy week full of lovely visitors, my time in the the pop up shop comes to an end soon  but it has been a lot of fun setting up a new business, buying the stock, putting wacky displays together and getting to work in Forres again. It's been 23 years since I worked in that very same building and some of the people as still around from those days.
I had visitors from Glasgow and Aberdeen shire this week, all very pleased with our pop up shop. Yes it would be great if all villages opened their doors to this idea, allowing an empty shop to come to life even just for a short time.
I will be working there for another two weeks, then we close. This was always the plan but I do feel bad for the people who say " I love your shop, I do hope you stay". But I am needed elsewhere and there just was not enough income to pay someone else to run it.

BUT the landlady loves the idea so much that she is going to re open after a little decoration and continue as a gift shop. SO there is a happy ending for the empty shop after all. The town gets a new store and I am very happy that all has worked out well.

Rocky Loves Rosie, the beautiful Amigurumi crochet characters have all but one , sold out! Rachel now has a list of orders which might make buying one of these exclusive creations hard to get. I still have the crochet bug, the case of wool is getting bigger. Currently buying it up while there is a sale on with the DROPS brand. Paying 90p/1.35 compared to Debbie Bliss at over 5 pounds for 50g makes a huge difference if you make things in bulk. The colours sells the wool to me, just love to pick and mix a few different colours to all work together on a project, not sure what project that is but its all in the planning.  ( I am getting mine from wool wearhouse)

Today its raining and I believe that there is a local group holding their annual BBQ down at  Roseisle Forrest, but if the weather is bad they are re locating to our big shed for shelter. Lucky for them the sheds are empty of animals and power washed clean ready for the grain to be stored at the start of harvest.

I might have to close all the window and doors because if I get just the slightest sniff of a burger I might crumble and follow the trail right into the shed. Not going to be good for my diet, this is the first morning in a week that my weight has not gone down  :(   must have been that wedding dance and hog roast that did it!

Enjoy your weekend ladies, if there any gents read this blog, speak up now!

Saturday Shenanigans - Design Team Call

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I hope you are all feeling well this Saturday morning?

The sun has has got it's hat back on,  in my little part of the world today!
(I have very young children, lol)

So I am keeping today's post short and oh, so very sweet!

Would you like to become a member of our team here at Sugar Nellie?

Would you like to wear this gorgeous badge on your blog?

Yes, I am looking for a new Sweetie (or two)!

The Sugar Bowl is our Challenge Blog and the Design Team members are called 'Sweeties' and they're a happy and highly valued part of our team here.

As a Sweetie, you will be expected to provide one card (or other craft project), per month, for The Sugar Bowl.

Occasionally you may be asked to join in with new launches or other projects which may crop up from time to time. However, this will be on a purely voluntary basis.

So, if you feel you would fit the bill, I ask that you leave me a comment on this post marked 'private' with a link to your blog, and a little of why you might like to join our team.

Closing date for applications is Friday, 2nd August at 7pm (GMT)

Now, if you're sitting in the sun today, why not get colouring some of your Sugar Nellie's?

If you do, please feel free to show us your creations, either, on our Facebook page and in The Sugar Bowl….as there are fabulous prizes to be won!

Enjoy your weekend!

I hope to see some of your creations in our challenges over on Facebook or in The Sugar Bowl

Sadly, no crafting for me today, only laundry!

Annie with Wreath

Hello everyone :o)

Lisa here, with my creation for this week.  I'm not sure what possessed me, but I had the urge to make a Christmas card... that doesn't usually happen until November for me!

No, I'm not sure why Annie ended up with blue hair... I think she's cute and quirky enough to carry it off though!

You can find the lovely Annie with Wreath at Funky Kits.

Thanks for popping in, hope you all have a lovely day :o)

ROYAL BABY!

How exciting I am so happy for the Royal couple as they patiently or maybe not so patiently wait for their baby to arrive. That last couple of weeks and especially in this heat is real hard on expectant mothers. The anticipation of the birth, meeting the little person and sharing your very proud news with the world. It is a big month for them and any other new parents out there.

There has been a run of sales on BAMBINO, do you think the Royal Prince or Princess will be receiving a handmade baby card with a Sugar Nellie image on it? I am sure the Royal post will be huge as everyone wishes this lovely couple all the best with the immanent arrival.

Potential a King or Queen for Great Britain. Between Will and Kate and Andy and Kim, the GREAT has been put back into GB. We all enjoy a good love story don’t we?

Boy or Girl, Prince or Princess, I realy dont care as long a "it" arrives safe and healthy.
Fingers crossed it any time soon as the media are on overload with this breaking news scoop.

have a great day

Ballet Student

Hello Everyone! Jane here today with a card made using one of the fabulous new Simply Adorables digis which were released this weekend at Funky Kits. The image I have used on my card is called Ballet Student and is available here.

I used Echo Park papers and a sentiment by Paper Smooches and coloured my image with Promarkers and Graph'it markers before I cut her out leaving a small border and adding her to my card with foam pads. I then added lots of lovely embellishments from my stash.

Here is a close up of my image, she was so lovely to colour in. I added glitter glue to her dress as a finishing touch. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

Christmas...in July?! Why not?!

Happy Monday all you sweet little elves!! Pat Frank here checking in to see what you'be been up to! Oh, and of course, I have another new Sugar Nellie DT project to share with you all! But first, I have to ask...did you have a great time at Saturday's "Summer Adorables" Blog Hop?! The new images are...well, they're ADORABLE! And they're digis...and they're available right now HERE at Funky Kits...and, because they're digital images, instant gratification!  Ya gotta love that!!

Now...let's talk about Christmas and Winter Holidays, shall we? How many of you have started your Christmas/Winter Holiday cards? This makes #3 for me! Wheet whoooo! Take a look...

Yep...as tempting as it was for me to create something summery with the new "Summer Adorables"...or those precious fairies from the "Return to Fairy Glen" stamp collection, I just had to ink up this quirky little "Pointsettia Girl" stamp by Leanne Ellis! She's available HERE at Funky Kits.

Once again, I colored this image with Copic Sketch markers...then deepened the shading a bit with colored pencils! Here's another, kind of "artsy" angle...

I do so love making "shabby chic" cards with my Leanne Ellis stamps...and I think this card is definitely shabby chic! I hope you've enjoyed looking at my latest Sugar Nellie project!! If you'd like more info on this card plus a look at a few more pics, please visit my blog HERE!!

Ooooh...please leave a comment telling us just how many 2013 Winter Holiday cards you've made so far! And...have a fabulous week!! Hugs...until next time.

SOS - Much Excitment

Good morning my lovelies, how as your week been. Creativity is not at the forefront of my week because for a rare summer its hot and we have headed to the beach most days.

I am still working in the pop up shop for a couple of days each week, luving it!

The House of Sugar has had a few big deliveries that Kate is working her way through between this months magazine submission for Sugar Nellie, yes its Christmas stamps this time, Christmas in July!

Much excitement as the four new Summer Adorable are launched, the DT as always do a magnificent job, they are very cleaver girls and that is why they are on our DT. A huge thank to you all and to Gayle who keeps you all motivated, excellent job all round.

But our customers too are excited by these four digital stamps. It's so quick with digital, no post to wait for and no ink to smudge up.

Todays card is by Jacqueline Bourne Jacqueline Bourne and was posted up on the Facebook group last night, how quick was that.
Beautiful card Jacqueline, lovely and soft to match this darling girl.

If you are good at desk top publishing you can get two stamps from one image by just using a head shot. Once we sold them seperatly but I think by now you are all clever enough to do that yourselfs.

blogger is giving me problems today so i am stopping here.

have a great Sunday and I will catch you again soon

It’s really hot here so, lots of colouring will be done in the garden with these super sweet little digi stamps..

There are four in all, and you can find them all at Funky Kits right

Now it wouldn’t be a Sugar Nellie launch without a launch day hop...

So without further ado, I will send you off ‘across the pond’ to

who will point you in the direction of our other DT members and very special guests however,
should you get a little lost along the way, the full hop order is at the bottom of this post.

Now, it wouldn’t be a Sugar Nellie launch without a little sugar candy up for grabs so, I want to see you leave our lovely ladies
some love along the way and I’d like you to come back and leave me a comment on this post telling me your favourite of the four adorable digi’s.

My goodness it’s getting hot in here…..cool drinks at the ready?

SOS - Crochet bug.

Hello my favourite crafters, how has your week been? Its the most beautiful day here in Scotland, this is our summer, long may it last for there is always a long cold winter to look forward to.

There is a lot going on it the world of sugar at the moment, where summer is considered the quietest months of the year, this summer has proved an exception. I am multi tasking at my best.  So here is a run down of things I need to share with you all.

Re stocks of Return to Fairy Glen are now available at FUNKYKITS

Callie had a little problem with her Buy It Now Code, its fixed now and that is one sweet deal. Pink and orange just the right colours to work with this summer. Loads of supplies that I am sure you would never pick up all in one store and never at that price. I wish her much success and give her all my support.

The pop up shop is going well, thank you for all your support. The BUZZ is definitely the Amigurumi work by Rocky Loves Rosie. Making their debut at our opening these crocheted characters have taken over first place in my wooly loves from Little Cotton Rabbits.
The down side is I am broke, I want them all and have made excuses to buy only two, but they are going quicker that they are made. There were two new additions to the window this week.

I have even been inspired to pick up a crochet hook!

Just ordered me some wool, sounds like there are a few favourite wools out there for Amigurumi.
I have ordered drops Paris and style craft wools in yummy colours to play with.

I do have a rep visiting the HOS this week with wools but I think I am going to look at getting Drops, its a great price point and those who use it love it. Any one out there have a different opinion I would love to hear it before I commit to stocking these ranges.

here are a few of my fav FREE patterns for AMI.

If you choose to put your pens away and pull out your needles, let me know how you get along.

What ever you choose to do, have a great week.

Karen

This is Charlotte and she's available here from Funky Kits - so pretty isn't she?

More photos and details over on my blog here.

Thanks for popping in... Hope you all have a lovely day :o)

The Story Teller

Hello Everyone! Jane here today with a card made with one of the adorable new Fairy Glen stamps which were recently released at Funky Kits. This image is called 'The Story Teller'. I coloured her in using Graph't pens and Promarkers and die cut her into a circle adding ink around the edge of the circle when it was still in the die.
The papers I have used are from an old My Mind's Eye pad and I used a Lili of the Valley sentiment. Iadded some stickles to her wings and under the mushroom cap. I added some lovely pink lace and some flowers from my stash and finished with some stick on pearls.

Here is a close up of my coloured image, isn't she adorable! All the new images are just so lovely to colour in! I hope you have a lovely Wednesday.
